Facility Boarding & Daycare Safety Standards

Winston-Salem Dog Care operates as a state-licensed boarding and daycare facility with

structured procedures designed around supervision, sanitation, handling, and operational

accountability.

Our facility uses documented processes for daily operations, pet handling, cleaning,

medication administration, and emergency response. Procedures are reviewed and updated

regularly as operations evolve.

Supervision & Handling

  • Overnight boarding guests have staff on-site overnight

  • Dogs are grouped based on size, temperament, play style, and compatibility

  • Rotational schedules are used for play, rest, feeding, cleaning, and transitions

  • Staff monitor dogs throughout the day for changes in behavior, stress levels, or health concerns and report any concerns to parents immediately

  • Dogs are transitioned through designated gated areas during movement throughout the facility

Facility Operations & Safety

  • Secure fencing and gated containment systems are used throughout the property

  • Operational and staff-only areas are restricted from pet access

  • Headcounts and transition checks are completed throughout the day

  • Structured procedures are used for feeding, medication administration, cleaning, and room transitions

  • Crates, rooms, play areas, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized on a routine schedule a minimum of 2 times a day

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Professional kennel-safe sanitation products are used throughout the facility including Kennel Sol, Rescue, Wysi Wash Systems

  • Water bowls, feeding equipment, crates, and surfaces are sanitized regularly

  • Dogs are rotated out of areas during cleaning and drying procedures

  • Facility cleaning schedules and operational procedures are monitored internally

Health & Medication Procedures

  • Current vaccination records are required for participating pets

  • Medication administration is documented and monitored

Training & Accountability

  • Staff receive operational training and ongoing coaching

  • Team members complete continuing education through programs including FetchFind and The Dog Gurus and local professionals in our area

  • CPR and emergency response training are incorporated into staff development

  • Safety protocols and handling procedures are reinforced through routine operational reviews

  • Operational procedures are documented and updated regularly

Structured Care

  • Dogs receive scheduled exercise, outdoor time, feeding, enrichment, rest periods, and potty breaks throughout the day

  • Rest rotations are used to help maintain safe group dynamics and reduce overstimulation

  • Individual care instructions are reviewed and followed based on each pet’s needs

Continuous Operational Review

Winston-Salem Dog Care regularly reviews facility procedures, staffing structures, training systems, sanitation protocols, and operational processes as part of ongoing safety and operational improvement efforts.
